Plans for Power Platform release 2020

Published new plans for its Power Platform as a result of thee 2020 release wave 2. New features of the platform will be released between autumn 2020 and spring 2021. The second release of the year is a demonstration of constant work to improve and represent new enhancements for better usage.

Power Platform Highlights

Power Apps: developers of different professional levels have been working thoroughly to make apps user-friendly and cross browser services. Users now have a possibility to create Power Apps right within Microsoft Teams in order to customize Teams experience. Opportunity to add custom pages to model-driven applications will also be open for makers. Everything can be customized using canvas, custom layouts and so on. Microsoft Power Virtual Agents are added by Power Apps portal in a role of portals studio and code support. New AI scenarios are introduced by AI Builder. Power Apps and Power Automate are updated to improve integration between them.

Power BI is focusing on three main directions such as modern enterprise BI, fascinating data experiences and insights. With the help of new features users can create content quickly and without troubles or questions. Creators provide users with AI authoring experience and grade content creation. Split view is now supported for iPad, Azure Synapse is integrated with Power BI Services for better managing of materialized views on large Power BI models. Integration with SharePoint lists are also upgraded, so extra custom reports can be built. Also, Microsoft works on data protection. Users are able to label sensitive data themselves.

Improvements in Power Automate consist of cloud-based AI builder and WinAutomation. Customers will have an opportunity to automate everything directly from Office apps. Enhancements are based on mainly improving greater automation and approval experiences.
